(Posted 10/11/12) Pickerel Creek Rd. Issue: After many meetings with the Town Of Ainsworth Officials and your Club Officers and Board of Directors, the passage of using Pickerel Creek Rd. has been granted with NEW STIPULATIONS:

  • There is a 25 MPH SPEED LIMIT
  • Snowmobiles are to be in SINGLE FILE ONLY
  • ALL Northbound will use the east side of the road and ALL Southbound traffic will use the west side of the road. (Just as if you were driving a car or truck.)
  • Pickerel Creek Rd. will not be groomed.
  • There is also a slight trail change through the woods getting on/off Pickerel Creek Rd. near Hwy T so you won’t have to be on the road the entire time.

PLEASE RESPECT THESE STIPULATIONS OR THIS PASSAGEWAY WILL BE CLOSED.

(Posted 11/15/2011) Due to circumstances beyond the Tombstone Pickerel Sno Club’s control, the trail that goes up to the Mole Lake Casino will DEAD-END at the Mole Lake BP Gas Station. This means you will NO LONGER be able to ride from Mole Lake, north, to Hwy 8.

Here you will find information on how to obtain a Snowmobile Trail Pass as well as information on our trail system.

Snowmobile Trail Pass

Wisconsin law requires those who use Wisconsin snowmobile trails to display either Wisconsin registration or a snowmobile trail pass. Funds from this program will be designated for use as trail aids and related costs to enhance all Wisconsin snowmobile recreation.

Wisconsin residents can register their snowmobile online at http://dnr.wi.gov/Permits/wivrs.html

A non-resident snowmobile trail pass is required to operate a snowmobile not currently registered in Wisconsin on a snowmobile trail.

The trail pass can be purchased online at http://dnr.wi.gov/Permits/wivrs.html, over the counter at any license sales location, or by calling WDNR at 1-888-WDNRINFO (1-888-936-7463), or AWSC at www.awsc.org

The snowmobile must be currently registered with another jurisdiction.

The trail pass must be permanently affixed by its own adhesive to the bottom center portion of the snowmobile windshield. If there is no windshield, the sticker shall be displayed in a highly visible location on the front of the cowling of the snowmobile.

Once affixed, the sticker may not be removed or transfered to another snowmobile.

Here are some vendors where you can purchase a WI Trail Pass. You may want to call them for their hours of operation and to ensure they have them available.

In Antigo: Antigo Yamaha 715 623-4144, Fleet Farm (715) 623-2063.

On our trail system: Motor Sports Marine (aka MSM) (715) 484-2106
